Killarney Lake frozen over

January 19, 2013 By Chris Corrigan Uncategorized 3 Comments

Finn playing with the ice on a frozen Killarney Lake. We have had cool temperatures and no wind or rain the last week or so and our lakes have frozen over. Folks have been skating on Josephine Lake as well.

One of our little duck ponds in New West is frozen over too. Was telling my mom about it, then she shared that it will be minus 40 tonight with the wind chill where she is. Those prairie folk, always have to one-up us left-Coasters (or 38 down us, give or take)!

Oh yeah…give it two weeks and you can tell her about the snowdrops coming up!

Snowdrops!! I always wondered what those were… like the crocus I was used to growing up but different. What a delight to discover what they are called.
