The other day, as I was checking his site for some information for some upcoming <a href=\"http:\/\/berkana.tomoye.com\/ev_en.php?ID=2169_201&#038;ID2=DO_TOPIC\">Art of Hosting <\/a>trainings we are doing, I stumbled over his page of principles and assumptions for his work.  They are worth reprinting here<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Some of our assumptions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organisations have more to do with living organic systems than machines<\/li>\n<li>Learning is a core competence in the network society<\/li>\n<li>Learning, change and transformation involve a degree of chaos<\/li>\n<li>The world is too complex to be led by individuals<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable solutions emerge through conversation and collaborative endeavour<\/li>\n<li>Conversation and dialogue opens the collective intelligence, wisdom and action<\/li>\n<li>Diversity is a gift &#8211; not a problem!<\/li>\n<li>New insights and understanding are at the heart of reflective living and wise acting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Some of our design principles<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is meaningful must always be at the center<\/li>\n<li>The combination of good theory, methods and bold practice creates learning<\/li>\n<li>Engaging many of our intelligences brings about learning of a higher quality<\/li>\n<li>Going from participation to contribution enhances learning<\/li>\n<li>Plan for emergence<\/li>\n<li>Conscious choice is a precondition for learning<\/li>\n<li>Clear context and purpose brings clarity and focus<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Less is more!&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Toke is a remarkable host.
