For years he has been running the very excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.co-intelligence.org\/\">Co-Intelligence Institute<\/a> from which I gather lots of information and inspiration.  Recently he sent out an email on the emergence of collective intelligence as a field of practice <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thataway.org\/news\/archives\/000209.html\">here&#8217;s what he has to say<\/a>: <\/p>\n<div>&#8220;Collective intelligence, as a field of study and practice, is taking off. Some really interesting work is being done, quite beyond the dialogue and deliberative democracy realms we focus on at the Co-Intelligence Institute. It turns out that even when thousands of people don&#8217;t talk to each other at all, they can still be (somewhat mysteriously) collectively brilliant in solving problems.
