{"id":3499,"date":"2012-01-30T11:52:24","date_gmt":"2012-01-30T19:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/?p=3499"},"modified":"2012-01-30T12:02:01","modified_gmt":"2012-01-30T20:02:01","slug":"a-very-wicked-new-tool-for-process-designers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/a-very-wicked-new-tool-for-process-designers\/","title":{"rendered":"A very wicked new tool for process designers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>A birth announcement that might interest you.  \u00a0I have been a small part of a project over the past couple of years (along with a few other Art of Hosting stalwarts) to help co-create a pattern language for group process.  \u00a0Over the years we have been working away at discerning, writing and publishing this pattern language.  \u00a0The idea is to capture a limited number of patterns that, if practiced in a group context, bring life to gatherings.  \u00a0After years of work, I think we really have something.<\/div>\n<div>The project has now resulted in it&#8217;s first product: a deck of cards that are wickedly fun to play with.  \u00a0Last week, Caitlin Frost, Teresa Posakony, Tenneson Woolf and I used these cards in working with a hosting team to design and hold the core of an Art of Hosting learning event.  \u00a0It was fantastic, and opened us up in so many ways to possibilities and potentials.  \u00a0As a co-creative design tool, these cards are wicked.<\/div>\n<div>So attached is <a href=\"http:\/\/howtosavetheworld.ca\/2012\/01\/27\/group-works-card-deck-a-joyful-announcement\/\">the birth announcement<\/a> with information about where you can order the deck.  \u00a0I&#8217;ll always have them with me so next time we meet, ask me if you can play with them!<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>The<\/strong> <strong><em>Group Works<\/em> card deck<\/strong>, the first product of the Group Pattern Language Project, is now out! The developers spent several years pooling our knowledge of the best group events we have ever witnessed.<\/p>\n<p>We looked at meetings, conferences, retreats, town halls, and other sessions that give organizations life, solve a longstanding dilemma, get stuck relationships flowing, result in clear decisions with wide support, and make a lasting difference.
