Check it out: <\/p>\n<div>Lebanon&#8230; white woman under the water;<br \/>\nmountains of breasts and fingernails.<br \/>\nScream, voiceless country!<br \/>\nRaise your arm high till the shoulder splits<br \/>\nand follow me, the empty ship,<br \/>\nthe wind laden with bells.<br \/>\nOver the faces of mothers and captive women,<br \/>\nover the cold ashes of verses and metres<br \/>\nI will spurt fountains of honey,<br \/>\nI will write about trees or shoes, roses or boys.<br \/>\nTell the misery to depart,<br \/>\ntell the pretty hunchbacked boy<br \/>\nthat my fingers are long as needles,<br \/>\nthat my eyes are two wounded heroes,<br \/>\nthat this is the last day for verses.<br \/>\nWhen Lebanon breaks, and the slow nights of poetry close<br \/>\nI shall put a bullet in my throat.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Adding more poets to my collection of Tammuzi poets, I have just found a few poems by Muhammad al-Mughat from Lebanon.
