These poems come via: <a href=\"http:\/\/drewgardner.blogspot.com\/2003_06_01_drewgardner_archive.html#95759244\">Overlap: Drew Gardner&#8217;s Blog.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the title of Albon&#8217;s book, <i>Thousands Count Out Loud<\/i> is, I am sure, taken from Gertrude Stein&#8217;s <i>A Grammerian<\/i>:<\/p>\n<div>Thousands count out loud.<br \/>\nThe way thousands count out loud they do it with moving their lips.<br \/>\nMade a mountain out of.<br \/>\nNow this is perfectly a description of an emplacement.<br \/>\nIf you think of grammar as a part.<br \/>\nCan one reduce grammar to one.<br \/>\nOne two three all out but she<\/div>\n<p>Which I found quoted in <a href=\"http:\/\/sarakirschenbaum.com\/gstein\/Sara%20Kirschenbaum's%20Critical%20Paper.htm\">a long essay about Stein&#8217;s creative non-fiction.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three parts of a longer poem by George Albon, from his book Thousands Count Out Loud: He reassured himself with the smallest, the almost unborn thought.
