{"id":2007,"date":"2009-03-09T15:16:12","date_gmt":"2009-03-09T23:16:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/?p=2007"},"modified":"2009-03-11T21:12:52","modified_gmt":"2009-03-12T05:12:52","slug":"back-in-ottawa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/back-in-ottawa\/","title":{"rendered":"Back in Ottawa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the second time in two weeks, I&#8217;m back in Ottawa, one of my former residences, and a part of Canada that I love very much. \u00a0 I arrived yesterday afternoon and spent the evening walking around my old haunts on Elgin Street, going to see Milk and then finishing with a late dinner at <a href=\"http:\/\/ottawafoodies.com\/vendor\/567\">The Manx Pub<\/a>, a place located four doors down from the first place Caitlin and I lived after we moved to Ottawa in 1991. \u00a0 The Manx opened three weeks after we got there and it&#8217;s still going strong.<\/p>\n<p>Today a day of teaching hosting, cricle practice and Theory U with a group of people involved in our <a href=\"http:\/\/abdc.bc.ca\/uaed\/\">Urban Aboriginal Economic Development Network<\/a> of learning circles. \u00a0 Many of the people with us today are involved in setting up learning circles BC and Ontario on Aboriginal women&#8217;s social entreprenuership inspired by the work of Penny Irons and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.firstnationsdrum.com\/Winter2006-07\/CtyMom.htm\">Aboriginal Mother&#8217;s Centre<\/a> in Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight its off to supper at Canada&#8217;s second Aboriginal restaruant, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetgrassbistro.ca\/\">Sweetgrass Bistro<\/a> in the Byward Market, another former stomping ground. \u00a0 Good to be back here, good to be working with friends, good to be doing good work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the second time in two weeks, I&#8217;m back in Ottawa, one of my former residences, and a part of Canada that I love very much. \u00a0 I arrived yesterday afternoon and spent the evening walking around my old haunts on Elgin Street, going to see Milk and then finishing with a late dinner at The Manx Pub, a place located four doors down from the first place Caitlin and I lived after we moved to Ottawa in 1991. \u00a0 The Manx opened three weeks after we got there and it&#8217;s still going strong.
