Skies are clear above the smoke but this morning\u2019s sun was a marischino cherry rising over the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My friend Kari Boyle<\/strong> is a lawyer and mediator and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slaw.ca\/author\/boyle\/\">posts at SLaw<\/a>, the Canadian Online Law Magazine.  This week she has a post on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slaw.ca\/2025\/09\/09\/some-thoughts-on-ai-and-conflict-management\/\">AI and conflict management<\/a> riffing a bit on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/being-together-as-a-radical-act\/\">a post I shared last month.<\/a>   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It is inconceivable to me at this point that life wasn&#8217;t present on Mars at some point.<\/strong> It just feels like everything we are learning about that planet points towards that conclusion. It feels inevitable. Last week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41586-025-09413-0\">some exciting news was published<\/a> in Nature and then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kvcfO_-p6YE\">explained by people like David Grinspoon<\/a> and Neil Tyson DeGrasse. The questions they dive into later in the interview are stunning in their implications.
