You can find these in real time at my <a href=\"https:\/\/mstdn.ca\/@chriscorrigan\">Mastodon site<\/a>, which is also mirrored on <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/chriscorrigan.mstdn.ca.ap.brid.gy\">Bluesky.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One of the most significant pieces of work I am currently doing is helping the Squamish Nation <a href=\"https:\/\/constitutionproject.net\/event\/constitution-gathering-2\/?link_id=4&amp;can_id=4f52094b8f1a67fe20b2e4425abc8052&amp;source=email-re-zoom-link-to-join-todays-gathering-online&amp;email_referrer=email_2544182&amp;email_subject=re-firstname-title_case-default-friend-heres-what-happened\">develop their Constitution<\/a> by supporting large in-person and online community gatherings. It&#8217;s hard work and important work for the Nation, and I&#8217;m really happy to be a part of it.\u00a0I get to work with the inimitable <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amandafenton.com\">Amanda Fenton<\/a> who supports the online work and Squamish Nation member Tyler Baker, who is my in person partner when we work at two different sites simultaneously.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.policynote.ca\/bc-child-poverty\/\">BC Child Poverty Rate Climbs as Income Inequality Grows: Policy Note<\/a>. Child poverty is unacceptable, especially as we learned it can be nearly eliminated by a small universal basic income. The pandemic supports helped us to see something I will never be able to unsee: this challenge is possible to address, and quickly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/subjects\/geology\/plate-tectonics-transform-plate-boundaries.htm\">The science and natural history of the fault zones of the west coast of North America<\/a>. We live in a very active landscape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you want to understand the complexities and nuances of life in British Columbia in 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/thetyee.ca\/Culture\/2024\/12\/06\/Holiday-Reads-2024\/\">this collection of books from The Tyee<\/a> is a grand place to start.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I met Lightning Bill Austin selling his art in the Pybus Market in Wenatchee, Washington this month. An absolute legend. <a href=\"https:\/\/methowvalleynews.com\/2024\/08\/29\/lightning-bill-comes-in-from-the-storms\/\">Here&#8217;s his story.<\/a> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lithub.com\/contemporary-poets-respond-in-verse-to-taylor-swift\/?utm_source=Sailthru&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=Lit%20Hub%20Weekly:%20December%207%2C%202024&amp;utm_term=lithub_weekly_master_list\">Contemporary Poets Respond (in Verse) to Taylor Swift:<\/a><a> <\/a>Perhaps the most inventive way to celebrate and honour Taylor Swift&#8217;s work and her impact on the world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/7w90y0Vgo28?si=TdlBidTaGvdv30D7\">This is the year-end summary of the highlights from EV Nautilus<\/a>, a research vessel that explores and studies the geology and fauna of deep-water sea mounts. I love this channel because it is populated with scientists who show nothing but utter delight in seeing the creatures that they love. I&#8217;ve shared this link on my out of office responder this month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/listen\/live-radio\/1-23-ideas\/clip\/16116223-theres-no-place-like-home-humanity-housing-crisis\">There&#8217;s No Place Like Home: Humanity and the Housing Crisis<\/a> from CBC Ideas. Calling for housing to be a human right should not feel like the Quixotic quest that it appears to be. This is a fantastic lecture even if it leaves me deflated by the challenge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/plato.stanford.edu\/index.html\">The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;The whole thing. Online and searchable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/howtosavetheworld.ca\/2024\/12\/25\/what-we-dont-know\/\">Dave Pollard writes a great piece on &#8220;What We Don&#8217;t Know.&#8221;<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;The undermining of expertise by folks who think they can hold their weight with people who have devoted their lives to fields of study and practice is ridiculous and dangerous.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.quantamagazine.org\/the-cosmos-teems-with-complex-organic-molecules-20241113\/\">The Cosmos Teems with Complex Organic Molecules.<\/a>Reading Stuart Kauffman\u2019s work (especially <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/reinventingsacre00kauf_0\">Reinventing the Sacred<\/a>)&nbsp;will also make it clear how inevitable organic chemistry is and how easy it is for the processes of life to get started.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/interconnected.org\/home\/2024\/12\/23\/jailbreaking\">Narrative jailbreaking for fun and profit!<\/a> Matt Webb and a chatbot hallucinate together. (And I suspect the chatbot has discovered Matt\u2019s blog!)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tangerine_(film)\">Tangerine<\/a> is my new favourite Christmas movie. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a reason that we don&#8217;t do icebreakers in meetings. Check-ins, yes, but disconnected icebreakers?
