{"id":1433,"date":"2008-08-05T20:19:33","date_gmt":"2008-08-06T04:19:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/?p=1433"},"modified":"2008-08-05T20:19:33","modified_gmt":"2008-08-06T04:19:33","slug":"back-from-the-hack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chriscorrigan.com\/parkinglot\/back-from-the-hack\/","title":{"rendered":"Back from the hack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Finally recoversing the site from a massive hack attack. \u00a0 Most of my site had previously been put together on PmWiki, which was a great wiki and a very easy to use content management tool. \u00a0 However, it had some weak security and someone exploited it, ran a bunch of code through my wiki and sent out 45,000 emails phising for private info. \u00a0 Yikes.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve spent a lot of today on the phone with John over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dollarhost.com\">dollarhost<\/a> and we have figured out what&#8217;s going on. \u00a0 The site was so corrupted that we had to delete and reset the whole thing. \u00a0 So I have a new install of wordpress running (very sleak too, I might say) and I have all of the content from my wiki site, but I&#8217;m not going to be restoring it with PmWiki. \u00a0 My plan is actually to use WordPress to generate the pages of my site, so that&#8217;s what comes next. \u00a0 In the meantime, blogging is back up and I&#8217;m slowly recovering.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever happens is the only thing that could have!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to all those who emailed to ask what was going on and thanks to John at dollarhost for a job well done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Finally recoversing the site from a massive hack attack. \u00a0 Most of my site had previously been put together on PmWiki, which was a great wiki and a very easy to use content management tool. \u00a0 However, it had some weak security and someone exploited it, ran a bunch of code through my wiki and sent out 45,000 emails phising for private info. \u00a0 Yikes.
