I have friends in Zimbabwe, and from that network of hosts and courageous leaders comes this email:<\/p>\n
Standing in Silence under a New Moon<\/strong>
\nSunday 6th April 2008<\/p>\n7 days ago we voted for change in our country.
\nAgainst the legal imperative to call an election foul within 48 hours of final polling
\nand to publish the numbers within 6 days,
\nand in the face of SADAC and international observers approval of our voting process,
\nZanuPF is now demanding a recount.<\/p>\nWhat possible reason can there be for this delay
\nother than a refusal to accept the deafening call
\nfor the old man to leave.<\/p>\nThe threats violence have once again begun
\nYesterday white farms were attacked by ZanuPF youths in Masvingo
\nJournalists have been arrested at the airport<\/p>\nWe are weary and battle scarred
\nfearful and courageous
\ncarrying the shadows of pain and intimidation on our souls
\nwe have spoken,
\ndone all we can by peaceful means
\nstill held in the dark unknowing.<\/p>\nWe live with the politics of fear
