Is it the hour? We leave this resting-place
\nMade fair by one another for a while.
\nNow, for a god-speed, one last mad embrace;
\nThe long road then, unlit by your faint smile.
\nAh! the long road! and you so far away!
\nOh, I’ll remember! but . . . each crawling day
\nWill pale a little your scarlet lips, each mile
\nDull the dear pain of your remembered face.<\/p>\n

. . . Do you think there’s a far border town, somewhere,
\nThe desert’s edge, last of the lands we know,
\nSome gaunt eventual limit of our light,
\nIn which I’ll find you waiting; and we’ll go
\nTogether, hand in hand again, out there,
\nInto the waste we know not, into the night?<\/p>\n
